Lorna Crozier

Lorna Crozier (Swift Current, Saskatchewan, 1948)

Crozier rompe con estereotipos de la edad basados en el declive del cuerpo y la mente mediante el humor y el amor, que permiten equilibrar las propias percepciones del envejecimiento.

En sus poemas, Crozier describe el proceso de envejecimiento en toda su complejidad, desde el miedo a mirarse al espejo por los cambios corporales que conlleva la edad, hasta la angustia por un marido enfermo y la viudez futura.

La obra tardía de Crozier incorpora reflexiones sobre la muerte y la pérdida de seres queridos, contrapuestas por una fuerte necesidad de luchar para seguir adelante.

El hecho que Crozier haya publicado más que nunca desde su jubilación, a razón de entre uno y dos volúmenes de poesía al año, indica una gran creatividad en su séptima década de vida.
